Blooming crocuses have become an inseparable symbol of the approaching spring. Even though they are primarily associated with Podhale or Chochołowska Clearing, captivating carpets of purple, yellow, and white flowers also form in other corners of the country. Where else can you see crocuses in the mountains? In the Beskids, more precisely in Krynica-Zdrój, where they already delight the eyes of residents and tourists.

Crocuses in the Beskids – where and when can they be seen?

With the arrival of the calendar spring and rising temperatures, many tourists wonder when the crocuses bloom in the mountains. It is difficult to give a definitive answer to this question. It is important to remember that the appearance of flowers is primarily associated with the melting of snow and thus overall warming. As a rule, however, it is assumed that the blooming month for crocuses is April, but there are places where they can be observed as early as March. Such a situation took place this year when the first crocuses could be admired at the end of March – in the Beskids.

Where do crocuses grow in the Beskids? Thousands of purple, yellow, and white flowers have started to decorate, among others, the center of Krynica-Zdrój. It turns out, therefore, that you do not have to go to Podhale to see the crocuses at Chochołowska Clearing. A real spectacle performed by spring and Mother Nature also awaits us in other regions. This will especially please those who do not enjoy the crowds that can be found in the Tatra Mountains every year.

Where do crocuses bloom in the Beskids?

Crocuses in the Beskids bloom right in the center of Krynica-Zdrój - along the promenade that is the very heart of the spa town. It was here that in 2021 nearly 40,000 flowers in various colors were planted, which for the third spring become a wonderful decoration, and at the same time, an attraction of the city. The plants began to re-bloom in the second half of March, heralding the arrival of spring in the most beautiful way.

When heading to the promenade in Krynica-Zdrój, it is worth seeing not only the blooming crocuses. Regardless of the season, the heart of the spa town also awaits tourists with a range of other attractions. It is in the city center where historic buildings are located, such as the Old Mineral Baths, the Old Spa House, the Old Mud Baths, as well as beautiful villas and guesthouses. Along the Krynica promenade, there are also the Main Drinking Hall, a concert shell, a multimedia fountain, the Nikifor Museum, or the Toy Museum.
